Financial aid question

Have one child accepted to BS but the other is waitlisted. In terms of the financial aid package is the number offered based on one child or two? We are concerned that if the other child is taken off the waitlist we cannot afford both schools. Also for next year how that impacts awards given for FA for the child that was accepted.

The financial aid would be for the accepted child. Is the waitlist for a different school? If so, they would have their own financial aid. If it is for the same school, and they got off the waitlist then financial aid for the waitlisted kid would be addressed at that time.

Our experience last year was the same. Twins, one accepted, one waitlisted (at a number of schools). FA was for the one child and it didn’t change even though the other child did not have any tuition expenses.

Both daughters will be attending BS at the same school this fall. The FA remained the same for the current student and we received additional FA, in the same amount, for the new student. So, our costs doubled, but we weren’t surprised by this at all.

All disclaimers apply, YMMV, etc.
