financial aid question

Hi,

Are applicants suppose to declare anywhere on the MIT application that they are seeking financial aid? On the admissions website it says MIT calculates need based on information from CSS/FAFSA forms, but is that all we have to do (submit the form) to let MIT know that we're applying for aid? I didn't find like a check box on the application where it asks you whether you're applying for aid.

Thanks!!

Nope, the application process is need blind. However if financial issues somehow greatly impacted your life you could include so in your essays and in the optional section.
