I am confused as to when my w-2 forms and copies of taxes (in other words, IDOC stuff) need to be sent. Do these, like the other part of the Profile, have to be done by Feb 15, or are they due by the March 1 deadline set on the collegeboard? Or is it some other date? And are these postmark dates or duedates?

{{or are they due by the March 1 deadline set on the collegeboard?}}

CB has a Feb 1st deadline not a March 1. Both are incorrect.

The deadline is the 15th for RD applicants. Notice the asterisk for preferred w-2 submission dates.
I would suggest calling to see if the forms need to be posmaked or recieved by the 15th. If they need to be received by the 15th Fed Ex just became your friend

Chaos...IDOC stuff is due to collegeboard by March 1st. How do I know, because we're in the middle of it right now. All tax returns and W-2's and the cover letter are due March 1st.

{{Chaos...IDOC stuff is due to collegeboard by March 1st.}}

This is confusing. Smiths webpage states everything is due the 15th Thats all I have to go by. I guess you would know better since you're actually completing the forms.

To clarify...

Smith wants all information regarding the CSS Profile by March 15th.. This contains data for 2004 tax returns. The IDOC from CB has a deadline of March 1st for all 2005 tax returns and W-2's.

{{Smith wants all information regarding the CSS Profile by March 15th.}}

So the webpage is wrong and it isn't Feb 15th? Nice going Smith :)

oops...Feb 15th for profile, March 1st for IDOC.

I haven't checked the website for new students but I wonder if any confusion/discrepancy is due to the fact that they're using IDOC for the FAFSA this year.

On a separate note, and I suspect that Smith isn't alone in this, I have a small amount of annoyance that all the Financial Aid correspondence is addressed to the student, doubtless under the aegis of some Privacy Act provision. I suspect that in 99.4 percent of the cases for Traditional Non-Independent students, it's the parents who are filling all this stuff out. I worry about some important piece of information, such as a letter saying "Deadlines changed!" or something, slipping through the cracks.

LOL--Youre kidding? My daughter couldnt even sign a release to take SCUBA lessons her 1st year b/c she was only 17 due to moving ahead in school. She couldnt possibly have had the info. to fill out any aid forms or be legally eligible to do so anyway. Morons.

....I am even more confused now.
