<p>Someone said I may have to wait 60-90 days after the start of class to get the overage of financial aid the school was sent after they take out tuition and fees. I was surprised to hear this considering you need textbooks immediately, not to mention parking, transportation, and housing (off campus). Is this true, and if so how are students paying these expenses while they are waiting for their refund? Also - will the school charge me tuition out of pocket until the financial aid is received? I can't afford to pay the tuition without the aid - that's why I applied for it, so I hope the school will wait for it! Thanks for the help.</p>

Ask your school for “Title IV Financial Aid Authorization” which allow the school to use your “excess” financial aid to pay for some of above expenses.
No, you don’t have to pay if you still have “pending” financial aid.</p>
