Financial Aid Shopping Sheet

Hello, I just received my financial aid package from UCI and had a few questions about my shopping sheet. First, here are a few quick facts…

  1. I planned on commuting and stated it on my FAFSA that I will be living “With Parents”.
  2. I qualify for Cal Grant A
  3. I am eligible for the Blue+Gold Plan

So, why does my shopping sheet list “Housing and Meals” as an item? It’s about 4,855… Also, what are the “other education costs”? I thought that I would only be paying for books/supplies. Lastly, how does the Cal Grant get distributed? Does it get spent on the items besides tuition before the remainder of the $$$ goes toward the tuition?
