Financial Aid Status

FYI: i called the office today and they said that we get notified about aid next friday or the monday after that as long as we sent in everything...

finally....

Its taking more than 2 weeks...

so, by.... "begining of april"

they meant, mid to late april.....lol

for those who havent noticed, financial aid status is already UP!!! i was actually surpirsed to get a scholarship, which i dint expect at all

=\ My page still says that my file is still being processed.

my page does also

Just kidding! My page was updated, too. ><

i had to do the whole "verification" thing...so i heard it takes a little bit more time for them to check it...

hows the aid at UT compared to other schools?

it was pretty gud for me. However, the majority of the "aid" they suggest are loans, even though they are pretty gud with grants

there is one type of loan called the B-on-time, where after you graduate and if you have a 3.0 GPA, it turns into a grant and you dont have to pay it back for all 4 years

for the B-on-time loan....what if you transfer to a different school....but still graduate on time???

The page says the cost of education for me is $20,104 which includes transportation and miscellaeous expenses, and I have 15,654 dollars in loans and the rest is scholarship and grant.

Anyway, Monkey, I found a website about the B-on-time loan:
https://www1.thecb.state.tx.us/loansonline/bot/BOTInfo.htm

Just got my aid. I got 18k in grants/scholarships, and 5k in loans.

I'm instate BTW. So basically I get a full ride!!!!!!!!!! Now I have enough even to get my own private room!!!!!

you check this on the CA$H thing, right? because on status check it still says mine is being processed...ugh

grandpabuzz...that is frikkin incredible...you prety much got a full ride and extra money...your so damn lucky...CONGRATULATIONS!

Thank you. I guess I should write a thank you note to my dad's ex-boss for firing him lol. Looks like I'm getting a private room, especially since my potential roomate didn't get any aid and is now going to UTD.

anyone else have an pros/cons from there own financial aid package?

Well Ive got 14k in loans, 1k in grants and my efc is 11k.
Its not even Stafford loans so repayment starts as soon as I enter college. Fin Aid package was bad for me.

i found this thread. i was wondering if anyone else can comment. how good was your fin aid package and what was your efc? also, was the package still good if you were chosen for verification?

verification doesn't correlate to the outcome of your package;

verification is a process that FAFSA uses in a select number of applicant. be happy that you were selected
