Concerning Financial Aid, here is what my status says after logging in.
"We have received your financial aid application for the year, but have not yet awarded you aid. If you are admitted to the UW or are a continuing student, and are eligible for aid, we will send you an award letter and information about processing aid. At this time, you have no awards for this aid year."

Has anyone else received their financial aid information yet?

What seems odd to me is that they have received it and make it seem like everything is in check. However, other colleges want me to send in Federal Tax return forms. I have not turned these forms in to UW and I do not see anywhere on the financial aid status page asking for these forms.

Do they not require Federal Tax return forms to be sent in? Do I need to send them in regardless if they don't ask for it?

Thank you.

They emailed me asking me to send tax forms. which I did a few days later. After a week or so they emailed me again saying financial aid was awarded. This was about 2 weeks ago. So yeah, if you haven’t, I would check your UW email.

Where can I check my UW email?
I was not aware I had one! O.O

I think it’s your myuw username @uwashington.net or something like that. My guess is it’s retrievable through your myuw account.

If you set up your My UW account, a link to “Check UW Email” should be at the left. If not, click “Add Content” (A little highlighted green button on the top left) and click on the button adding UW email. After that, go back to the front page and a box on the mid left should be specified for your email.

can you only check your email after paying the deposit??

right now, all my email sent there is just forwarded to my reg. email.

I think so, since you only get a UW email account once you are a confirmed student there.

I do not see a “Check UW Email” even after trying to add it.
I only see “Change Email Forwarding”. If I click it, it says "All messages sent to *@u.washington.edu are being forwarded to ■■■■■■.com" (I’ve blocked my email and replaced it as )

About what padfootblack said, I have not paid a deposit. This may be why I do not have a link to the email.
Does this mean that I will not see how much financial aid I will receive for the 09-10 year until I pay the $500 deposit?
Also, if I pay the $500 deposit, it does not mean that I am confirming enrollment there, does it? I think I read somewhere that the deposit is refundable before May 15th.

Thank you so much!

Actually, I remember my friend telling me UW awarded her financial aid, and she has not confirmed enrollment. If you get awarded financial aid it should be emailed to whatever email you have it forwarded it to.

The $500 deposit is for housing, not confirming enrollment. To confirm enrollment you must fill out this sheet (which they mail you with the welcome packet) with a payment of $272.

Ughh this is so weird and frustrating.

I have filled out FAFSA for UWASH, but have not sent in my Federal Tax Return Forms. Therefore, I do not know anything about my financial aid status/awards.
But, I have not received an email from UWASH requesting my Fed Tax Return Forms. Since I haven’t gotten the email, I feel as if it is very late :\ Also, I don’t know if they require some other forms besides the Fed Tax Return Forms.
Do you have any information on what other forms besides filling out FAFSA I have to fill out and send in?

Thank you for clearing up the enrollment/housing information.
I hope there is enough room for me for housing! (:
And thank you again for all the help you’ve given me so far. (:

No problem :)

And I don’t think you need to send in any addition forms unless they ask for it. You can try calling their office to make sure.

Also, if you haven’t signed up for housing, you better do it soon! Space fills up very quickly; my friend last year signed up a week after the applications opened and he got stuck in triple rooms in lander!

Once again, thank you for all your help. Hopefully I can still hand in the necessary items on time and receive aid. o.o
I wished I knew about housing sooner! I’m so stupid. I wasn’t really interested in UW at first because I live in Maryland, which is very far. But now, it is one of my top schools.
