Financial aid tap/pell

I live in New York and attend a CUNY CC. I just received a check in the mail for my leftover PELL grant which was $321.00.

None of my TAP reward was used to pay for my tuition. My question is whether or not I will also receive a check for that or not.

Why was none of your tap used?

Did you apply late?
Are you eligible for TAP (you can be eligible for Pell and not eligible for TAP, especially if your parents are not NYS residents.)
Did you meet your SAP for TAP?
Was your tuition paid from your Pell?

If yes, when the TAP does come in, they will reimburse you.

It sounds like your pell covered the full tuition.

I am from New York also. I am not sure if the CC’s include just the tuition in their cost of attendance or room and board, etc also.

If they do you might get the TAP refunded. I would check with the financial aid office.

TAP awarded to cover the tuition only. I don’t think you would get any refund from TAP.
