<p>I got the same thing. What year is your son? My daughter will be a junior next year and this is the first time this has happened. It is a FAFSA verification. People are selected to verify that the info they provided is accurate (sort of like your taxes being audited). I don’t know how “random” or not this is. I am positive that the reason we were selected is because our income was substantially less than last year, so they want to verify this. Not random in my case I’m sure. If it is not your son’s first year, you may have been selected if the info you reported varied enough from a prior year.</p>

<p>CollMom- our son’s an incoming freshman too, and the same “to do” actions/documengt submittal requirements are on his BHH checklist. Not a really big deal, in my view, as it’s essentially a validation exercise…</p>

<p>i believe we are one of the “random” sample-but we did not get grants from fafsa…just merit scholarship plus small additional loans, so it seems a waste of energy??</p>
