Do you get details of any financial aid offer with your early action decision or can you only get that if you apply RD??

I got my financial aid offer after I got my early action decision. They also recently gave me an update offer after the tuition increase and everything.

If you applied for financial aid and sent everything in on time when you applied EA, you should have gotten a financial aid package along with you acceptance letter. It's also online: there's a link on the admits site that takes you to your offer.

Omegakoji, how long after did you get your finaid offer?

Basically as Yale is my firm first choice, I will be applying early action. And if I get accepted then I will definitely accept, however the only thing that would cause me not to accept the offer would be if there was any issue with financial aid. So after December 15th or whenever the decisions are released I won't have much time to wait for any finaid information to come through before I have to send off applications for my other schools, especially if it comes in the mail. But if it's available online then that should be okay. Also, my family income is less than 60k, so as Yale is need blind any admissions offer shouldn't have any problem with financial aid.. I just want to make sure.

Thanks both!

If you have all of your documents turned in, you should get a fin. aid estimate as soon as admissions come out. There is a online site where admitted students can check the financial aid letters the school has sent out. You can also track your documents after acceptance.

it was rather depressing when i checked my letter only to find that i would be receiving no money... alas, such is life.

Hey! I was wondering where you were, haven't seen you around lately. How come you aren't getting any money?! Do you have a sizable income or are there any other factors? That's gotta suck :( But still, congratulations on your acceptance!

Thanks Omega :)

Eating food, sorry to hear about your receiving no money. But I thought Harvard, Yale and Princeton boosted their aid significantly this year and that most families were expected to pay a maximum of 10% of their pay. Is that not the case? Do you have a very high EFC?

yeah, the fin aid info is online with the acceptance letter. they'll also send you the info through snail mail but it seems it'll get to you pretty late seeing your in England

Yeah my EFC is in the high 50,000s. Paying for college actually isn't going to be a huge issue for my family so I'm not too worried, but it's no fun to get NO aid :(.

^I'll send you a dollar if it makes you feel better! :)

Yeah seriously eating food, boo hoo. Want something to cheer you up, like say, a Yale acceptance?
