How is everyone's financial package?
I wanted to go to SCU, but the financial cost held me back since my EFC was around $36,000. I spoke with the financial aid department and they actually were helpful and provided me an additional $3,000 which was excellent although they took about 3 weeks to respond with an amount. So after it came to $33,000 for the EFC.
Is there anyone attending with a huge EFC because they know it is a school very much worth every penny?

I think the idea “worth every penny” is a very subjective thing. And even if a student or parent claims it was WEP, it still might be justification after the fact because to say otherwise would have them second guessing that giant gap in their savings account where that 120K used to be.

Also, it is hard to really prove a WEP. because just as many opportunities, different, same, better COULD have happened at a less expensive and dare say it a less prestigious university. A mentor, an internship, a job opportunity, or that professor who makes everything click might have happened at the “other” university just as much or more than at SCU.

So–yes, I think SCU graduates “happy” students in that they generally feel it was WEP–but that is not a universal thing and in the end, that gaping hole of spent money “hurts” families at differing degrees for different reasons.

Only go if your family can afford it without harming their retirement, unemployment safety nest egg, and other childrens’ college funds.
