How am I supposed to apply for CMU's financial aid? On the website it says if you are a prospective student, contact CMU. This doesn't make sense. Why would all freshmen applicants call CMU to ask how to apply for Aid?

Anyway, if anyone knows how the aid process works at CMU, let me know. Thanks!

If I remember correctly, my Financial Aid package came up on the “Where am I in the process?” website a few days after RD decisions last year. They’re not guaranteed to meet full need for RD applicants, but if you’re not happy with your package, you can send in a form to have your aid re-evaluated. What this entails is sending in a simple form, along with competitive financial offers from peer/competitive schools with the hopes of getting more money. In addition to an online notification of financial aid, you should get a formal letter/package in the mail after you receive an acceptance package. Good luck!

Right above it says "These instructions are for enrolled undergraduate students only. If you are a prospective student not yet enrolled at Carnegie Mellon, please contact the Office of Admission regarding financial aid matters. "
