Does Stony Brook give academic scholarships to current undergraduate students? I know that when students first apply to stony, they look at your gpa and sat scores to look for eligibility. However, they didn’t give me any scholarships when I entered as a freshmen, but will they reconsider me for next year? Also, if they do reconsider, will they just look at my gpa from freshmen year?
Really good question. The short answer is no, nothing’s automatic… but there IS money available. Contact the Financial Aid office; all of the major scholarships run through them. In addition, contact your major advisor, because departments sometimes have small scholarship pools as well.
