I didn’t receive any need based financial aid from cmu, I also applied ed, is there anyway I can negotiate at least something ?
Financial aid isn’t “negotiable,” but if you believe there’s been an error you can ask for a review. What’s your EFC? Did you run their net price calculator before applying ED?
net price calculator is only an estimate. CMU is not obligated to meet it. Sometimes, it is very inaccurate.
Did you do a pre-review with them? If so, did it come out differently than your offer?
Did you get notification that you did not receive it or just haven’t gotten a letter? My daughter graduated in 2017, but while she was there the financial packages did not arrive until at least February and wasn’t confirmed until early summer.
ED accepteds typically get their FA packets shortly after acceptance so that they have time to review it before having to commit. If the financial aid simply cannot work, they may have a good-faith reason for an out. That’s how it works at most places. OP are you saying that nothing has arrived at all, or that they sent you a notice that you will not receive any institutional need-based grants?
