I finished submitting all of the required documents before the deadline, and the “Where Am I in the Process” page reports all of them as received (besides my two waived documents.) However, this is the notification I get: “Your financial aid processing is not yet complete. Check back on ‘Where Am I In the Process’ to be sure you’ve submitted all your required documents.” Does this show up on everybody’s pages, or am I missing something?
contact the admissions office and check with them what you’re missing. I’ve found that sometimes the system marks things wrong
I have that too. I’m figuring its because decisions haven’t been released.
i have it too. ive had to be in contact w their office several times w missing stuff. call to double check imo.
Does CMU provides merit based scholarships? or it is only need based. In addition does it stack need based and merit based scholarships? Thanks
@ultapradesh they have 1 merit based scholarship I think and they give it to students who they really want to attend I believe. And idk I’d the scholarships stack.
CMU has merit scholarships (Carnegie & Presidential) offered to small proportion of students who have at least some level of need (you have to check the box that you are seeking financial aid to be considered for merit.) Need aid can be added to merit if the student has need that exceeds the merit amount. Since CMU does NOT meet full need, the merit scholarship is meaningful (not just substituting one name (merit) for another name (need). Also students can stack outside scholarships with the merit scholarship +aid to the extent that it reduces loans or work study. CMU considers small loans (a few thousand a year) as part of their financial aid packages.
The Presidential and Carnegie Scholarships are not for any specific test scores or grades. They have lots of students with high stats --many with perfect stats. The scholarships are for students they particularly want that year, for whatever reason. It is rather unpredictable who will get an offer.
Also merit offers are distributed across the different schools.
