<p>Did anyone else get mail from the office of financial aid yet? I got mine in the mail today, and I live in New York City.</p>

<p>According to them, my parents "are in a relatively good position to meet [my] educational expenses at Vassar without direct assistance from the College." I knew I was a bit better off than some people but this came as a bit of a shock to me and my parents :0</p>

<p>Total budget: $49,130 ... yikes. I'm pretty sure Vassar has their own way of calculating things, but if anyone's curious, my EFC came out to 38080 on the SAR.</p>

<p>I got my financial aid packet today! It was amazing. Honestly, it was what my family needs. Most of the Vassar contribution was scholarship money.</p>

<p>Ughh...nothing at all. 49,000...right. They only give need-based aid, right?</p>
