Is there a site that I can go to in order to find out how much financial aid I was awarded, I lost my letter and it seems that the one that the school provided me with is off by about $800.00

You school’s FA site might have a place for you to log in with your password to see your award.

Just to warn you … most schools will state that your financial aid award can change. It is possible that your award changed between the initial letter you remember & your final award. This can happen because of information submitted in your financial aid application. The best thing to do if you disagree with the amount of aid is … call your school’s financial aid office & ask. They will be able to tell you exactly what happened.

As kelsmom said the initial offer can change if circumstances change - such as getting a scholarship, updating your tax information etc. Also some aid has to be officially accepted or you lose it. For instance my daughter’s aid included a Perkins loan that she had to accept by a certain date or lose it. Did you accept the aid offered?

It can also change due to an error- for example the my D received a merit award from her campus, they then reduced her university grant; but all the paperwork had said it would reduce her loans. I only noticed this as I had printed out both the initial and the final fin aid reports.

When I pointed this out and asked why it was different than I had been led to believe, they said it was an error and fixed it. If you do think you have an error, just ask
