I was wondering if anyone who currently attends ND might be able to answer this...When I completed my FAFSA, my EFC was about 10k. The CSS profile will show that's a stretch because my parents are realtors (terrible economy) and I have a brother in college. Keeping that in mind, what type of package do you think might be realistic or offered? in terms of grants/loans/etc. Thanks.

anyone???

That’s why ND has students do CSS as well because FAFSA doesn’t go as in depth. I dont work in Fin Aid, but from personal experience if you write a letter or go in person, and talk to them, they will try to help you. You have to make sure to accept some type of loan though, they usually aren’t as willing to raise one’s financial aid unless you have accepted some type of loan.

But sorry, I can’t really tell you what to expect…

I’m currently a freshman at the University and know exactly what you are going through: anxiousness, uncertainty, etc. But be assured that if you have the need, Notre Dame will do all it can. To piggy-back on what was said: the CSS profile also adds valuable information that the FAFSA alone cannot determine. In fact, my EFC was a bit higher than what I actually pay now. Of course, expect to take out any necessary loans.

Best of luck. Just wait a out and see what Notre Dame offers you. Then you could take any necessary actions as a family in financing a Notre Dame education. I wouldn’t use this time speculating what the financial aid office will give.

Is it necessary to fill out the FAFSA for ND, in addition to the CSS? Or is the CSS only OK?

You’ll need to do both.

Has anyone who’s been accepted EA recieved their FA letter yet?
