Financial Aid

We got our letter today and ND is giving $13,400 need based aid compared with $23,000 at BC and $30,000 from Colgate (They have indicated my total package is $23,000 but the difference between the $13,400 and $23,000 is made up with loans).

I have two kids in College and make a good living but I don't understand the discrepanciy when all three of those schools cost the same. Any insight out there?

We are trying to weigh ND Mendozza School vs BC's CSOM's Honors Program.

PS. I called ND's financial aid office and got some person on the phone who sounded like my 12 year old and was basically useless. My first experience with ND and it has been disappointing. You would think a school that costs 50K a year would have a better answer than "well thats what cam out of our system"!!!

i would say definitely choose either ND or BC as your child will be challenged a lot more at these two schools. Plus their alumni networks are better than Colgate as well. I would select ND over BC, but i am not fully aware of your financial situation. I belief there is a BC v ND results on the ND forum that you may want to look at.
