Can someone explain how it works to me? I've asked SFS, but they haven't clarified it well. For example, they gave me aid for travel each semester and I asked how it worked but all they replied was that they don't just directly give money.

Can someone who goes to Wellesley and gets FA message me?

Here’s my understanding: I think Wellesley looks at how far away you are, makes a modest estimate of how much it will cost to get to/from Wellesley, and factors that into your family’s ability to pay. They cannot give you more aid then they bill for, but personal expenses are considered when Wellesley tells you how much the school costs (hence the financial problems for student mothers who cannot live on campus).

How are they calculating it off my bill if something like travel expenses wouldn’t have been on my Wellesley bill? They had a section for tuition cost and how much they were offering to cover that… I just really don’t get how this works. haha
