<p>Financial aid is usually disbursed 1-3 weeks after school starts. But the figures should be up in a month or two? Hopefully.</p>
<p>I dont’ know if you have access to ISIS yet, but it shows up under financial services there. Generally the financial aid people take a while to get it all together, you’ll probably hear from them some time during the summer.</p>
<p>It also depends when you filled out your FAFSA. Sometimes you’re aid will go through several incarnations, with them slowly offering you more and more.</p>
<p>oh i meant when the figures should be up! lol. and yes i just went on ISIS but nothings there for now. i filled my FAFSA feb 1 so I hope it’ll get here earlier than summer because thats a pretty long wait 
UM already sent me an email yesterday about how much they’re giving me so I was hoping I would hear from UF around this time too but I guess I’ll just wait. Thanks guys!</p>
<p>The deadline to apply for financial aid is March 15th, so I don’t think they usually release any financial aid package information before that. Last year I received note of my entire financial aid award around March 24, but note of another university scholarship a bit before.</p>
<p>In my experience they’ve never finalized my aid package until some time in the summer, but I usually fill out my FAFSA pretty late (after March 15th, which is the ON TIME deadline, not the deadline).</p>
<p>Maybe we’ll be lucky this year and they’ll get the numbers up some time in march, but usually they put my scholarships up then and then way later add in the government stuff.</p>

<p>They will then start putting together packages for those who got it in by the deadline. Hopefully it will be a short time after that.</p>

<p>My girlfriend will be a freshman and she got he remail today- luckily they covered most of her expenses in grants and they offered her a significant amount of work-study.</p>

<p>I don’t understand. I didn’t get any Scholarships, but got $8,000 worth of loans and work study. I thoughT every college gives freshman scholarships, does UF not? My stats aren’t the very best, but they’re still very good. and isn’t there a cap of some sort on the amount of work study you can do? What I got seems like a lot.</p>
<p>UF is pretty stingy with scholarship money. Even National Merit Scholars only get $500 per semester.</p>
<p>I got like $1890 per semester from Bright Futures, and combined with the ACG Grant that should cover my tuition. How do they disburse the Pell grants and leftover financial aid after tuition has been covered?</p>
<p>You’ll get a refund check to spend however you want.</p>
<p>what is included in that check? personal expenses, books ?</p>
<p>The government will send the grant money (and bright futures) to UF, and UF will keep only the amount of money that you owe them for room and board, tuition, meal plan, etc. Whatever money is left over after those expenses will be sent to you as a refund check.</p>
<p>A refund check is just a check. Money. You spend it however you want. Whether you spend it on rent, books, gas, videos games or beer it’s up to you. =p</p>
