Financial Aide At UPenn

What do you guys think of the amount of financial aide UPenn gives? I was looking at the collegeboard statistics and compared to all the other major colleges, UPenn has a very low percentage of Scholarships/Grants given as opposed to Loans/Work Program. However, another souce I looked at (US News) said the average financial aide breakdown at UPenn between Scholarships and Loans is about the same as the other major colleges.

This is pretty important to me, seeing as how I am planning to apply to Wharton ED.

Also, if you apply ED, do they tell you your financial aide package as soon as you get your decision in December 15th?

Thanks!

BUMP does anyone have any input?

You need to be careful if you apply ED because you will be obligated to attend and can't compare/negotiate with other schools.

I have not heard reports of students admitted who had poor or stingy offers of aid from Penn. I know students who have turned down amazing offers from Penn and gone to other schools but the financial aid offer from Penn was not a factor. I think that if you communicate with the FA office early and provide them with your information they will give you an indication of what to expect. Good luck on your application. Be sure to call financial aid for they are there to help you and to answer questions of this type. The earlier you call the more confidence you will have prior to submitting your application.
