Hello everyone, I´m with a doubt that you may know the answer.

My brother-in-law will be sponsoring me paying for full tuition. He is a multi-entrepreneur and he wants to use his enterprise bank account to prove he has how to pay. He is Mexican, so his enterprise bank statement will be in mexican pesos, however I can translate it.

My question is, can I use his enterprise bank statement with 60 thousand dollars in savings along with a document proving that he is the owner of the enterprise to request the I-20 form, or must it be a personal bank account?

You can have a sponsor who will pay for your tuition. And the sponsor can be a company. (For example, sometimes students enter a contract with a company that the company will pay for their education if they work for the company for x years afterwards.) So, a company account shouldn’t be a problem per se.

Now, you’ll have to ask your college what kind of documentation they want. For example, some colleges want a notarized contract between you and the sponsor saying that they will pay for your education if the sponsor is not a family member. (And in your case, it’s not family - your sponsor is a company.)
