I got an e-mail saying a financial aid officer changed the information on my FAFSA. I went and looked, and the EFC is still the same as is everything else. What could they have changed?

I am wondering about this as well, but something has changed on my FAFSA. My parents’ US income tax paid has changed to zero from a non-zero amount. What does this mean?

JamesJr, there are changes that can be made that don’t affect EFC. Don’t worry about it.

Muffinish, sounds like you reported taxes paid incorrectly (you took the number from the wrong line on the tax form). If taxes paid changed from 0 to a larger number, this can actually be to your benefit … as it might reduce your EFC. However, depending on your individual circumstances, this may or may not make any difference in the aid package.

Thanks for your reply kelsmom.
