Hello, I recently just received a financial packet for the academic year of 2018-2019, and I was wondering what is the average financial aid amount that an undergrad receives from Lehigh since they seem to be giving me almost full ride (even though my stats aren’t that impressive, which makes me doubt that this is an accurate amount). Also, in the financial packet I received, it was mostly from grants and none from merit scholarships. Around how many applicants receive merit scholarships? Thanks!
What were your stats Spiraszyx?

Note: My stats aren’t terrible, but compared to most applicants, they’re not that impressive.
I think they are super impressive…and I can see why you were accepted so soon!! Wish I could help you out with the fin aid question, but I honestly don’t know the answer!!!
I’m not sure about merit scholarships, but I do know that Lehigh promises to meet every applicant’s full need. Do you have a low EFC? That’s probably it. And btw, your stats are impressive. Not sure why you’re doubting them. They’re better than most. You probably have a good shot at a few Ivy’s tbh. Good luck!
There is very very little merit given and not much during ED. Your stats are fair but in line with median accepted students. Almost all colleges do try to meet need and that is without regard to prior academic performance. I have not heard of anyone from Lehigh wondering if an aid package was too generous - mostly you hear from squeaky wheels who hope to get another 5-10K - so congratulations. You have a solid backgroud which is plenty to launch from in Bethlehem.
My Daughter was offered 40K merit, yet only 1 year. All other scholarships offered at other universities were for 4 years.
How did you know it was renewable for 4 years,-did it say it on her fin. aid. letter @Mara74?
Did you ask Lehigh if her Merit was renewable for 4 years?
I am a current Lehigh student and I would assume that you didn’t get merit aid because it is only given to the top tier of applicants. Not sure if this is correct but I think merit is only given to the top 2% of all applicants.
Accepted to Industrial and Systems Engineering but not IBE program. National Merit Finalist, 1540, 34, 9 APs, lots of community service and ECs.
The financial aid package was very disappointing, even with loans, they didn’t even come close to FAFSA EFC! Looks like my son is going elsewhere!
I was accepted into IDEAS and am so excited about the program! However, I am disappointed by the merit aid (or lack therof). I understand Lehigh focuses on need based aid and does not give out a lot of merit, but I was hoping to receive at least a little bit especially because of the IDEAS program. Is there any way admissions would offer me any money if I show them my offers from comparable engineering schools? I love Lehigh, but it is hard to justify attending a university that is double the cost of a similarly ranked engineering college.
