<p>After receiving acceptance from a some well-known UK universities, I decided myself to apply to the following US institutions: harvard, stanford, yale, columbia, penn and princeton... certainly ambitious, but since i got offers from the uk, why not...</p>
<p>i'm an international applicant btw, no need to apply for financial aid...</p>
<p>what i don't really get is whether i need to submit financial statements, because i don't find them on the university pages listed as a requirement, but on the other hand i run into forms like this one on the penn homepage:</p>
<p>All colleges will ask you for a statement similar to this one at some point. Penn wants your financial statement along with the initial application, but some other college (especially highly selective ones) don't want it until after you have been accepted and decided to enroll. They will mail you a copy of the form once you actually got in. </p>
<p>For the time being, just read every college's website very carefully to see whether or not they want a financial statement along with the initial application.</p>
