Find me some safetys!!!

I have a 3.33 gpa and a 25 act. Can you guys tell me some safety schools, mid reaches and some reaches in the Midwest? Thanks!!

Depends what sort of program you are interested in…

I just want a big school that’s strong in science because I’m not completely sure yet what I want to do

Demanding much? ;)

What state do you live in?

Minnesota but I’m looking all over the Midwest!

Also, do you have an approximate rank? To be honest, idk how much help you’ll get on CC considering most people here have 30+ ACTs and tend to be more interested in colleges on the coast.

I’m sorry I can’t help much.

Minnesota has a whole bunch of public universities. Have you looked at all of them? Anywhere else you would have to pay out of state tuition and fees. Have you sorted the money question out with your parents yet?

KU-- reasonable out-of-state tuition, reasonable admission criteria plus Lawrence, Kansas is great college town an hour from Kansas City airport.

I was responding only to the safety question, with KU. Match and reach would require more detail about curriculum, interests etc.

Bryanwalt,

Please relax, your stats are not as low as you think. CC is filled with the tip top students and their parents, they are not the typical college student in terms of stats.

KU is an automatic in for you. You nned a 24 ACT or a 2.5 GPA to get in. It has a beautiful campus and a great college town.

Mizzou is another school that automatically admits with a 24 ACT. Very pretty campus, cute town.

Kansas State, automatic in, no doubt. Apply now!

Iowa State should be a safety for you. Our highly competitive suburban Chicago high school’s Naviance shows all of our students with your stats getting in.

Every one of the above schools are solid schools ranked in the top 200 with certain programs ranked much higher. They are considered safety schools but students have to work hard to succeed.

Apply as soon as applications open, the earlier the better with rolling admissions. And, no essays with these schools, k- State and Iowa State apps are up now.

Best of luck!
