I am looking for a school (not a community college) near a big city (preferably new york) that has southern charm and is renowned for their computer science/cybersecurity majors. (I will be doing my undergrad/bachelor’s there)
by southern charm, I mean:
-BIG greek life
preppy/friendly/traditional people (coed)
beautiful campus with hopefully some georgian architecture
BIG school spirit
Some bonuses for me that are not necessary are:
mid to large population
ncaa swimming
I am still pretty early on in my high school career so I can adjust my stats however, I know that this is a specific bill, but please try to help me out anyway. thanks!!
What high school courses have you taken, grades for them.? What is your schedule this upcoming year?
Have you taken the PSAT or PreACT?
How much are your parents willing to pay? Will you need financial aid or merit money?
Nearest state south of the Mason Dixon line would be Maryland. University of Maryland at College Park and Johns Hopkins fit the bill Virginia has a number of such schools. Maybe West Virginia too. If you want to deeper int the south, the options multiply
Miami of Ohio meets a lot of your marks. Hockey is the big sport, not football, though.
Pitt, BC, and Syracuse are closer to your geographic zone and seem like possible fits too.
A Syracuse winter will squelch any southern charm that school might have. To a slightly lesser degree PItt and BC weather as well. I don’t get any feel of the south in the latter two schools Maybe architecture at Syracuse.
