finding worth in a major

I'm going to be a sophmore when fall rolls around, so it's high time that I decided what major I'm going to pursue. Last year I took a wide variety of classes to aid in my search. What I found was that the classes I had the most interest in (politics and economics) I found the least worth in, and the classes I found the most worth in (education and sociology) I had little interest in. I was just wondering if there is somthing that i'm not seeing, or a way that I can reconcile this disparity. Are there common jobs in economics that can serve in the same way that a teacher or social worker can, short of going to around setting up co-ops?

Well, it really depends on how you define "worth" or the economist term, utility.

Is it monetary? Is it "helping people"?

One thing you might want to look at is public policy, you can use your political or economical knowledge to influence national/state laws or socail trends.
