Does anybody know what timeframe the first batch of decisions are released?

Some reported that October 31st was the first batch for last year , yet I've heard from numerous people who had their decisions made in the middle of October.

D received her decision last year on October 31st. I believe her application was complete on October 7th. I think if you search the board you’ll see that the time between release of decisions will vary.

So my entire App is nearly complete (checked wolverine access and only thing missing is teacher rec). If I can get my lazy teacher to do his rec and get it in soon, I could get my decision by Oct. 31? Shweet.

Sorry, this question is a little off topic but…if I live 1.5 hours away from AA, should I just mail it to them regularly, or would it be worth it to mail it super express overnight delivery (whatever it’s called). If I mailed it regularly, would it just get there in like 1-2 days anyways?

I have no idea how the USPS works at all lol =[ thanks

If your teacher gets that rec in asap it is possible that you could have a decision at the end of the month. Keep in mind that the decision could be a deferral. From what I have read here, the first admissions release is generally for students who are clear-cut admits- no question. D’s teacher recommendation was the last item received.

^ I agree, but I also think it depends on where you live and how many people have applied from your area. I think 31st admissions are mostly for clear cut admits, but there are other factors too, so don’t lose hope if your stats aren’t godly.

I had a friend get accepted (last year). She had good stats, but wasn’t anything super good, just average for U of M. 3.8ish with the most rigorous schedule she could, with 31 ACT.
