First C During First Sem. of Sr. Year

I am currently playing the waiting game and I am not loving it. I applied to UCLA, UCI, UCSB, UCSD, & UCR.

I was pretty confident about getting into UCI (my first realistic choice) up until this semester. I got my first C. And this C was in a regular Civics class. I also got 4 B's and only 1 A. ): I have never performed so poorly before. I have been a 4.0 student (gr.10-11) up till now. I have taken a total of 6 AP classes in the past 2 years. My school is ranked Top30 in my state.

My semester just got over and it is already the end of January. Will my first semester grades ruin my chances of getting into UCI, or any UC for that matter?

I got a 1900 on SAT
690 on both Math2 & Chem SAT II

USC Medical Intern
DRMedical Center Volunteer (300+hrs)

Please help. Thanks.

One C probably won’t kill you if it wasn’t in an AP or honors course. I’m not familiar with the colleges you mentioned, but one bad grade in one class (from what I’v heard) is rarely a deciding factor for this kind of stuff.

You’ll be fine, as long as your other grades are in tip top shape.

when you say “tip top shape” does 4 B’s and 1 A sound good. B’s in AP Bio, AP Calc BC, AP Lit, Spanish 4. A in Ceramics I. C in Civics CP.
