So, I've been quite confused on this subject matter. What is the general definition of a "first generation college student" and if you're a child of immigrants, who have attained a college degrees abroad but not in the US, are you still considered first generation?

All answers will help!

Bump… I’ve been wondering the same thing.

Say my parents attended college but didn’t graduate, would I be considered first generation then?

no you would not. 1st generation means that your parents did not attend ANY college for ANY length of time. Anyway the bump for admissions at UofM won’t be that much anyway because it is a state school

It will have virtually 0 effect on your chances.
