"Are you the first generation in your family to attend college?" This is a yes/no question on USC's application.

If both parents attended college but neither has a four year degree, does anyone know for sure the right way to answer this question? I know in this case you're considered first generation by most colleges, but the fact USC asks whether either parent "attended" college has me wondering how to answer this question.

i feel like there was somewhere on the application that asked you for more information on your parents' education... bc i remember filling out the schools my parents went to/the degrees they earned. so say "no" and then explain in more detail where they ask.

Thanks for the replies. There is a question that asks what colleges your parents attended, but it doesn't ask what degrees, if any, they received.
