First Language?

<p>Hi,
On the Common App, it asks you for your first language. I filled out both English and Chinese because I wasn't sure which one is my first language and Common App allows me to do that. However, will colleges wonder why I have two "first languages?" Will they discard my application just because I didn't select one specific language? I'd appreciate it if anyone could help me answer this question. </p>

<p>I’m not sure but I’m sure they’ll understand that you started speaking both around the same time when you were young, making them both your ‘first language.’</p>
