I just sent my first quarter grades in. I have 3 B’s in AP Calc BC, AP Lit, and AP Gov. AP lit dropped the day before finalizing, AP Gov went up to an A the day after finalizing and Calc is just the same.
I have had a 3.95/4.0 unweighted and a 4.14/4.0 weighted.
My major is Comp Sci and my classes (3 comp sci classes (2 AP’s and 1 reg) all A’s and 5’s on AP test), extracurriculars (robotics, internship, etc.), essays, and Letters of rec are all geared towards comp sci.
How much are the quarter grades going to cost me? I know this school is already really selective but how much worse?

Btw, my other classes this emester include: AP Comp Sci, AP Biology, Business Math
What do you mean by finalizing? Are you referring to the end of the first quarter? Does a dropped course show on your transcript?
Admissions wants to see that you’re challenging yourself but are also maintaining an upward trend----a lot depends on your previous years’ grades + other grades from this semester, and more importantly, the courses in which you received those grades in. I felt the same way last year while applying as I received 2 Bs during a “progress report” (my school’s was on a semester schedule so there wasn’t any official grades) but I brought up my grades to 1 B (in Physics lol) by the 1st semester deadline. I kind of felt that might have been the reason why I was deferred, but no one but Admissions knows for certain----I just made sure to show Brown that I was still interested in being admitted RD and that I was continuing to do well overall, even if I struggled in some subjects. There’s not anything you can do now-----just make sure to have your RD applications ready, work on getting the best grades you can for the rest of the year, and hope for the best!
