Anyone in first robotics who got into an ivy league school or equivalent?
I want to know if it is good to have.
Im on team 2122.

I got into a couple ivy league schools and would consider FIRST one of my 2 solid ECs. I know many more FIRSTers at MIT, CalTech, CMU, etc. The thing with FIRST and college is that they won’t be overly impressed with team awards. What will impress them is how you’ve contributed to team awards, leadership you’ve taken, projects you’ve started, etc. Of course there are some individual awards–Dean’s List, Website/animation/CAD/business awards, etc.

Of course, FIRST is awesome for reasons other than your resume. Even now that I’ve graduated I’ll have a hard time staying away from the program, and will likely still be with my old team when kickoff comes around.

the tators of Idaho? I remember you guys.

FIRST is one of the best ECs you can have, especially if you’re thinking of entering an engineering specialty. All three of the people we sent to MIT this year came from our FIRST team, and so did the guy going to CalTech.

Cool, problem is tht i want to go into biology or business… Or both. Who knows…
