How much does this affect admission into the school?

i don't think a whole lot. just get mostly As and Bs if you can help it.

If the school is extremely selective, a lot. I.e. Harvard, Yale, even maybe Northwestern, UChic would expect straight A's. So, this doesn't apply to USC.

If you're on the borderline for admission, a lot. If you're worried about getting into USC with your current stats, or maybe are on the low side of the average, it will be important to give your application a boost with senior year grades.

If you're on the borderline for scholarships. Being considered for a scholarship might prompt them to check into your senior year grades. If they're Cs and Ds, they might reconsider admission altogether.

If you are in, in, in by leagues or an average applicant, you shouldn't worry too much as they probably won't even request them.
