First semester college Student looking to transfer

Hey everyone, my first post here but I have a couple of questions. Before Some background about me, I’m currently a first semester freshman at SUNY Plattsburgh, I have a 4.0 gpa and will most likely finish the semester with that. Due to personal reasons I’m looking to transfer home for a semester and then transfer to another school away from home after that. My questions are 1) will the 4.0 gpa just disappear after I transfer home? 2) does it look bad to transfer that many times? If anyone can help thanks!

A double transfer doesn’t look so good. What is going on to require that one semester at home?

  1. No though that school may not consider the grades from Plattsburgh. Those grades will count toward any masters program. 2) Yes.

I have some family issues back home and it would probably be better if I was home

Just wondering whether 1 semester will really be enough… is there a four year college near home you can attend and not transfer again?

Yeah but I want to be away from home. Weird situation going on

Is it really going to clear up in a semester?

I’m hoping if not I might have to stay there for a year

Op,
take a leave of absence from your current college after this semester, go home , deal with what is going on there and then apply no later than this March as a transfer student for classes starting next Fall.
That would be MUCH more acceptable and “understandable”… Having a semester gap in your college enrollment history due to extenuating circumstances at home is a perfectly valid reason for the gap and also for wanting to transfer.
DONT try to transfer twice. That makes you look flaky.
