First semester financial statement

Looks like the first semester tuition, fees, room and board bill is now available online: University of Maryland | Testudo | Interactive Web Services for Current Students, Prospective Students, & Alumni

I believe it is due by August 20th. Get out those wallets! ;)

This is what my account says:

12/11/2007 PRIOR BALANC
200808 07/21/2008 FALL RM CH $2,701.00
200808 07/24/2008 BOARD FALL $1,899.00

Total Account Balance: $4,600.00

Looks like they still haven't added my tuition fee...

^^ Have you been to orientation yet?

@oregon: Orientation is this monday...

The total cost for the semester on mine is $15,937.95. Although its still alot of money I can't imagine what some of my friends payments are like at more expensive, private universities.

What is the Mandatory Fee of $719.45 on the bill?

^^I wondered that, too, until I realized it's part of the "tuition and fees" that is listed all together on this page:
Full-Time Undergraduate Fees, Financial Service Center, University of Maryland

so with the online bill-paying, is there anything special we need to do if our parents are the ones writing the checks/paying the bill? i just don't want to accidently sign up to pay under MY name and end up having to transfer money into my checking account to pay for school

Perhaps you could have the bill-paying parent fill out the online bill payment information. Unless you give UMD your bank's routing number and your own checking account number, they can't take money from your account.

The mandatory fees breakdown can be viewed at Part-Time Undergraduate Fees, Financial Service Center, University of Maryland It breaks it down by credit for the part-time student, but shows full-time as well.

Basically, it pays for all your athletic tickets, your gym membership, the union, the bus, performing arts, etc.
