first semester freshman year

for a bio major, what would a typical freshman year look like...break it down by semester please

at my college it would consist of into to bio, gen chem, chem lab, calc, and then two other classes that you should choose...

would it be possible for me to do bio gen chem chemlab, STATS (instead of calc), and like 2 business classes

i think med schools would like you to take calculus unless u tested out of it. i tested out of it but still need to take a year of math so i took calc II and got the A and now im taking biostats because it completes the math sequence as well as exposing me to a class that i know i will have to take in medical school.

yea ill take calc somewhere along the line....but is this possible?

Also, ive actually read that med schools require 1 math and they usually like stats....cause when u really think about it, calc doesnt have to much of a relation to medicine where as stats is big time.

yea that sequence is fine... all you have to do is complete the premed requirements, they dont have to be in any order (although gen chem before orgo is a given). well if what you heard about stats is true than im even happier im takin biostats. im a biochem major but i also am taking business courses in finance cause that is my other interest so you should have no problem doing the same.

yea thats exactly what i wanna do actually....minus biochem, im going bio

yea just at my school we have a heavy core and i cant do the double major so im just taking the courses. i might take some over the summer to maybe get the double major.

I know this is a very general question, but which is harder: calc or biostats?

depends....i love stats and hate calc lol some of my friends hate stats but for sum really sick reason love calc

well i like calc and always have im not sure how interesting biostats is as my first class is tomorrow. from what i have heard calc is harder but most people who take it like math and therefore do better. either one will probably require work tho
