I know there are plenty of reaches but I have time to improve SAT, so that can help me if I get like 130+ improvement (Got 170 pt increase from just a few weeks of hitting the books)

THANKS

P.S Do colleges recognize that you visited their school when judging admissions.

You have a pretty good chance at all those schools. Columbia, Cornell and Brown are probably 50/50 though. Taking the SAT's again is a good idea. Those are good scores but for Columbia they need to be incredible. Congrats on your impressive resume.
Hey do you think you could chance me? I'm not getting any responses

rank 18 with a 4.0 uw gpa? 4.0 uw gpa with a 2070? do i detect ultra grade inflation?

good ECs. but too much random filler bs. remove them so you appear focused and passionate about something.

in at everywhere except for brown, columbia, and penn. these last three you have a 50 50 shot

what should i remove from e.c's?

what can i do to help my columbia dreams?

such a good school

and i dont get our unweighted gpa ranking at school. haha my transcript actually says 4.27 which doesn't make sense lol i just assumed 4.0 on a normal scale

75 views two chances.

Help a brother out, please. Thanks

I'm a little bit confused here...
You have a straight A record, but only got a 2070 and only ranked 18?!?
In any case, I think you have a pretty good shot at all of them, relative to their acceptance rates.
Good job!
Chance me if you will.

straight a's and a 2070 is plenty reasonable where the school average is probably in the 1600 or 1700's

I think you will probably get into columbia if you apply ED and raise your SAT scores a little bit. cornell is safe too, brown and penn will be tough if you apply regular but you still have a chance.

How about you rank me now?

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=362572

Yah, that's my point exactly.
How does your school rank you then? If not by grade...?
Because my question was that if in a school of low average sat's, and you're well above average, how are you only 18?

bunch of studyharders who arent naturally that smart. so they try real hard and do all their homework but arent good on SAT's

Ah I see, because the study-harders at my school also bust their butts for the sat's, so they do well on grades and standardized tests but no ec's at all.

Chance me?

Bump

Thanks

"rank 18 with a 4.0 uw gpa? 4.0 uw gpa with a 2070? do i detect ultra grade inflation?

hmmm...in at cornell, hopkins, and nw with sub 1400 sats? NYU, vassar, USC, and tufts aren't sure things either.....for a wannabe chancer you aren;t very accurate.

And OP, for your significant reaches, you need to be around the 50% line for SAT scores, those are your biggest hindrance. Also, visiting the school really doen't make a difference in terms of admissions, although some schools (wash u for example) do track it.

what would be a good shot for in terms of points increase on the SAT

You can say a breakdown per section or total.

Good ECs though I agree with the above people that you need to have a definite focus (the film would be good---it may also be good to write about in your essay) In terms of SATs, you should shoot for a 2250 (very solid score) with a 750 in each category. Though you probably can get into schools with lower scores, this score is a solid one :) I think you'll be a strong contender at all the schools once you raise yoru SAT. Good luck!
