First-year dorm showers

I read in the student handbook, on Princeton's website, a reference to showers being located in the basement of a dorm. Does anyone know if this a common set-up in first-year dorms (other than Forbes, where it's not)?

Basement showers don't exist in Wilson, Butler or Forbes. The only place I could envision a basement shower is in an unrenovated Mathey or Rocky dorm. I haven't really heard any complaints about that so I doubt they are very common.

Thanks for the information.

When I was at the April Hosting, some of the prefrosh staying in Butler said something about Showers in the basement. That's what they told me.

the building I stayed in at Wilson, and the building my friend stayed at in Rocky, didnt have basement showers...

1915, a building in Butler, has showers in the basement. There are only two floors though, so its not that bad

I'm going to Princeton and all I wish for is that I'm not placed in Butler...is that so much to ask?

You could end up in the Butler part of Walker, which wouldn't be so bad. Really, Butler's not all that bad...though the brick walls and waffle ceilings are a bit...off-putting, hehe.

Bathrooms/showers in the basement would take some adjusting to, me thinks.

and butler has bloomberg, formerly known as ellipse.... oh so pretty (brand new, with lots of common rooms, ac, beautiful! views of the field, and... what should be senior housing)

"Bathrooms/showers in the basement would take some adjusting to, me thinks"

that was one of my concerns when I visited the campus

I would hate to have to walk up and down floors to take a leak in the middle of the night. Luckily for me, my bathrooms will be located in the halls.

(how do you know where you'll be, semp?)

'cause he's going to Dookie. Or Duke. Whichever you prefer, haha. Deep, deep down though, he's still got a little Princetonian left in him, so he sticks around :p

oh I see! I thought housing was out already.

Duke's great, semp - every single alumni from my hs who's gone is really loving it.

actually, technically I'll be a Blue Devil

ironically this meshes with my politics

social conservatives will call me a blue(liberal democrat) devil

lol, yes

Woody Woo here I come(hopefully)

oh and I'll always have a little "tiger" within this blue devil.

but, we can beat you in b-ball and day!

lol

and we will slaughter u in crew and lax =P oh and soccer while im at it =P

hahaa oh semp how we will miss meeting u :-( too bad NC isnt very close to NJ lol
