Ok, this might be the dumbest question to be ever asked on this forum: does each dorm room get its own bathroom????

Im not talking about Princeton exclusively, just dorm rooms in general... Sorry, couldn't resist from asking :o.

lol I spelt "weirdest" horrendously...

For some reason I think that each floor gets its own bathroom. I think. It may be that each dorm gets its own bathroom.

Most dorms in Forbes have their own bathrooms, because it is a converted inn. Aside from that the other dorms are divided into sections and each group of them has a large bathroom area (male and female of course) that is in the basement area. So, you get um.. maybe 40kids to one large bathroom... it's been awhile since i visited and i didn't neccessarily recall that info but that is my best memory skills...

well all the dorms in butler have about 2 + 2 bathrooms (2 for guys and 2 for girls), and apart from that the people living in suites get their own bathrooms as well.
Honestly, bathrooms aren't a big problem at princeton. 4 of us share a single bathroom. So i guess that's pretty good.

thanks for the replies. I guess that bathroom facilties at Princeton and any other college are pretty good then :).

oh and do you get to choose which dorm you want to be in???

"oh and do you get to choose which dorm you want to be in???"

No, you don't get to choose. The dorms at Princeton are randomly assigned. There are 5 dorms at Princeton:
Butler
Forbes
Mathey
Rockefeller
Wilson

In 2010, Princeton will add a 6th dorm (or residential college) to the list:
Whitman

Each residential college has pros and cons, and none are "best" or "most popular". However, the bathroom availability in every room will depend on how old the residential college is. For example, the "basement bathrooms" that jacquesier mentioned are most common in Mathey and Rockefeller, which also include some of the oldest dorms on campus.

Hope that helps!

thanks for the helpful reply. I guess I'll have no bathroom anxieties in college then :p!
