Is it true that the common reader is not required? Also, does anyone know exactly what we do/learn in the first year seminar?

From personal experience, I had already declared my major and when I showed up to my FYS I found out that we weren’t going to do anything that dealt with the first year reader. However, there were others who were/weren’t declared and had in-depth seminars revolving around the book.

I’m guessing it deals with the professor in how they want to conduct the class, so I’d read it just in case. Don’t bother annotating like I did because it ended up being a waste of time in the end.

Oh, and what did I do in my FYS? It was a really breezy class. The prof. introduced our little group to the things that the Ag school offered, where we could get help with classwork/english papers (the writing center is a godsend, literally), how to handle the work load, etc. I really liked my class and it really helped me out.

Ok thanks so much!

Sure thing! ^0^
