It is likely that I will attend Wellesley next year. And..I know a friend who is also coming to Wellesley. Can we request to be roommates? Will they put us together?

Thanks :)

yep, when you get the survey around june there will be an option to request someone! just make sure that you both request each other, as it won’t work if only one of you does it.

Thank you so much! I am pretty sure I will be attending Wellesley…are you a currently student there? I only visited once. and it was long time ago…i wanted to visit this spring open campus, but i couldn’t. I hope it will be a good match for me.

nope, i applied ED and am going to be a first-year this fall! I’m sure you’ll love W, it’s so amazing. SOC was great!

I was just wondering, if we request roommates, will we automatically be placed with just that person or is there a chance someone who requests one other roommate might end up with that person plus someone else (randomly) in in triple or something?

I think I read somewhere that there are only like one or two triple rooms on the whole campus. So I wouldn’t worry too much about that.

I don’t know how many triples there are - my D, who got in off the waitlist, was in a triple. Her two other roommates also got in off the waitlist. They got along great and are still wonderful friends. The triple they had was huge!

I suppose it’s theoretically possible for two roommates who request each other to end up with a third (or even a fourth roommate). However, the vast majority of first years live in doubles.

When I visited, there seemed to be a good number of triples. Most of the rooms I visited were triples.

Hawkdancer, most of the first year triples are concentrated in the tower complex. There are triples else where, but they tend to be for upperclasswomen.
