Can any Fisher students/parents explain the math requirement if a student enters with AP Calc AB credit? The curriculum guide lists two math courses other than stats, but not sure if a student claims credit for Calc 1 they are done, or need to take Calc 2 to complete required math hours. Thanks for any guidance.
As long as you score a 3, 4 or 5 on the Calc AB exam, you will get credit for Math 1151 (and 1150, but you don’t receive credit hours for that) and you are done. Math 1131 is business calc but 1151 will fulfill that requirement. If you choose to add the new Data Analytics minor, you’ll need to take 1152, so keep that in mind.
Also, AP Stats with a score of 3 will earn credit for Stats 1450. Fisher requires Stats 1430, but again, 1450 fulfills that requirement. My son also had credit for AP Bio and AP Chem, including the lab component. He only had to take 1 more science course and chose human nutrition which was interesting and fairly easy compared to other offerings.
@Bearvet - thanks for the info! My son is also hoping to get out of 1 lab science as well as both econ requirements and some gen eds.
