I go to my local community college, I do plan to thansfer but after my first year I calculate a gpa around 2.3

Biology c+
College algebra c+
Us history A
Biology 2 C
Psychology C
Pre cal C
western civilization B
English C+

Are these grades really bad for first year? Can I still thansfer to another college? Is there a way I can retake the c's?

Those are decent grades. Bad grades would be F’s and D’s. Yes, you can transfer to another college. You just got to make sure you have the courses required to transfer. As for whether you can retake them, that’s something you should ask the college. I would retake them, but that would depend on your major. Those math and science classes may not apply to certain majors.

show an upward trend in improving gpa then it will be worth it. check some schools your interested in and see the avg transfer gpa. a 3.0 or higher is more ideal. a 3.5 is highly competitive schools and a 3.8 is good for the top 25 universities in the nation

Great advice from the others. Ill reemphasize the importance of an upward trend. Growth is what colleges are looking for, not perfection. Don’t get discouraged, brush off that semester (which again isn’t bad), and go kick butt.

Yes, you can transfer still.
Also are all those classes college transferable? You will need to work on your study skills and study habits, you won’t automatically become super good at studying, everything is practice!
I had a horrible GPA my freshman semester, but I realized I needed to pick my butt up! After that, it was all hard work and my GPA from then on was 3.4-4.0 every semester. I’m not smart at all, so if I can do it then you can do it!
