i haven’t gotten a pamphlet yet
@manhattanblonde It depends on where you live! You’ll probably get one soon. I haven’t got one yet either.
you’re right! I actually live in the city just 30 minutes away from the school so I probably just got mine early since I live so close
I live about 45 mins from the city, hopefully it’ll come in the mail tomorrow
I got mine today! I cried lol
I called the admissions office the day I got the financial aid pamphlet and asked the lady about the status of my application once I gave her my FIT ID number she told me that my application was complete and the decision has already been made and that letters go out in April, does this mean the financial aid pamphlet could be a hint since they made the decision prior to sending it to me? Thoughts?
@jack823 That would make sense! I got mine the other day too! Gosh, I’m getting so nervous, I just want to know more than anything!
@jack823 what major are you? I’m AMC and wondering if they’ve made the decision for me too since I’m not a portfolio required major!
April is sooooooo far away!
I applied for illustration since the illustration program isn’t as competitive as FBM or AMC I’m assuming they made my decision earlier since there aren’t as many applicants. Call the admissions office and ask them for the status of your application, once you give them your FIT ID number they might tell you if the decision has been made or not but regardless we still have to wait until March-April to get our letters
Hey guys! I’m applying for A&MC and I was just wondering what were most of your essays about? Did you guys stick to answering the basic “Why your major and why you” question?
These Financial Aid pamphlets everyone is talking about, are you talking about an envelope with a sheet of paper about financial aid, followed by a post card a few days later? I applied to FBM for Fall of 2016, 3.3 GPA, All AP courses, also have a transcript with two classes taken at Niagara University that I’m withholding until admissions decision has been made, as well as two college courses in the process. I’ve been accepted to SUNY Buffalo State as well as Johnson & Wales University (if all else fails, Johnson & Wales). I’m highly enjoying this idea that those of us who received financial aid forms have been accepted, haha.
That’s exactly what I got, a paper about financial aid followed by a post card a few days later it’s possible that it could be a hint especially if you know if your decision has been made however It’s also possible that everyone who applies gets a financial aid pamphlet. We’ll have to wait for another 2 months for our decisions
funny how I found this looking for something on the internet to give me some type of hope that i didn’t have to wait until April to hear my decision; seems I found several others like myself.
I already submitted my academic history so there is no going back. One of my friends told me that for the Fashion Institute’s academic history there was an option to list out any AP classes taken in high school. I am a senior and I am stressing because I did not recieve this option nor do I remember seeing this as an option. PLEASE HELP. Will this affect my application? Will my transcript compensate for this?
@kadakdaks Yes I basically just answered that question! I included a personal anecdote to make it stand out a little bit too. Make sure you sound super passionate! And make sure you sound like a good student/person that is unique.
I received the financial aid pamphlet but not the post card! Now I’m worried. I guess the thing to find out would be if or if not everyone receives them if it’s a sign.
No do NOT stress about that, I’m sure it means nothing, it’s highly unlikely these mean anything as far as acceptance. Everyone just hold on and wait until April.
Another question for all that have applied! On your MyFIT portal, do you have a list consisting of
HS Transciprt or GED Scores
Academic History
Essay
All marked in the Received column with a date? And then a blank status column?
I have the same thing including the date my portfolio was recieved
