FIT Fall 2017 Applications

Yeah the email is given to every applicant so good luck everyone ! I was sure I was rejected because my fit portal said my account didn’t exist but it was just a glitch!

I wouldn’t go by the email. I have always had access to my email, and I applied twice previously. First time rejected (I think that was because I applied really late and they closed the fashion design application the day after due to the program being full), the second time wait-listed for the spring, but during both I used the account. Hopefully this time I accepted.

I applied for photography AS as a transfer student!

I guess nobody heard back yet. When did everybody applied? I applied Jan 30th lol so I think I’ll be one of the last ppl to hear back from them.

@QQQ516
I am on the same boat. . .I submitted my portfolio on February 1st. . .hahaha

I applied in November but haven’t heard back either but in January I received a letter about how to get financial aid. I assume it was to remind everyone of the deadline though

I received the financial aid brochure as well. I think that most colleges usually send them out and are not an indicator of acceptance unfortunately. The waiting is making me anxious though.

I sent in my portfolio on January 31 lol

@Pankobreading In 2014 I was also a transfer student applying to FMM (now FBM) anxious about FIT. I thought the financial aid brochure was a good sign when I first applied three years ago only because the ones received said “Incoming Students”. Next thing I know I received the acceptance packet two months later. But I will say good luck to you all.

i finished my application at the end of october for the FBM major & im so stressed, this is my #1 school. what other schools did you guys apply to as backups??

@amberbrownxo I applied to Kent state university, university of colorado boulder, and drexel. I got into all of them so just waiting for FIT. The wait is killing me

I also applied to George Mason University (Marketing), currently working on my Parsons essay (I know it is pretty late, but their deadline for transfers in April 1), and VCU. I had considered Kent State, but I felt that was entirely too far for me at the moment.

Has anyone heard back yet? Specifically transfers? I applied for the photo program as a transfer, I’ll be a junior! I heard FIT replies to transfers last.

I think the earliest that they send out letters is like the middle of march.

@ALOHAAA, I was kind of supposed to go to Drexel. @Pankobreading, I applied to VCU to as a transfer. @Justbrandee36, I don’t know how it is for hearing for fall for transfers, but in when I heard back for spring I heard back at the same time as everyone else.

Is anyone advertising and marketing?

Heard if anyone got their acceptances yet? Some people last year got theirs end of feburary.

@ALOHAAA That would be great to hear back right now, but from everything I’ve gathered – the earliest acceptances appear to be around March 9. I’m actually really torn between them and Ohio State (they were ranked 12th in best merchandising schools and other rankings put them 9th overall, as of 2016) because I’ve already gotten accepted there, but FIT clearly offers the best networking opportunities, considering that you’re right in NY. Tough to turn down being a Buckeye when you grew up loving that team/university your whole life. But, FIT may be to overwhelming a chance to pass up.

Can you guys check your cost of attendance cause applicants last year say that it may be an indication for getting in.
Go to sitemap and click the first option and choose 2017-2018.

Thanks

@ElephanT Your cost of attendance on there really doesn’t change until usually after you receive your letter. Somebody last year had their cost of attendance at zero until literally the day they revived their letter in the mail. If it does change, I’d imagine it’s not until they’ve reviewed everybody’s financial aid information. There’s really no giveaways with FIT. I thought getting the financial aid broucher in the mail meant something, but they send that to every applicant, I guess.
