Fitness at Pitt!

Hello all!
I'm really into working out and staying healthy and I would really like to keep that up in the fall as well. I will be living in Forbes and I think Forbes residents are allowed to use the fitness center at Lothrop. However, the Petersen's Center seems nicer. How far of a walk is it from Forbes to Petersen's? or from Forbes to Lothrop? Would I have to use the shuttle at all?

Thanks!

Forbes is about a block and a half away from Lothrop which is located half-way up a hill. The Petersen Event Center is about another half block or so from Lothrop at the top of the hill. You wouldn't need the shuttle if you didn't want to use it and you'd definitely get a work-out climbing the hill. Check out a map of Pitt on the Pitt website to get an idea of how far it is.

I was in a similar situation to you my freshman year. Like stowmom pointed out, Lothrop is roughly half as far from forbes as is the pete...that being said, there is a bus stop/shuttle stop right outside the doors at forbes. therefore, if the gym at lothrop (which basically stinks anyway lol) is not to your standards, you can easily get transportation to the pete or trees hall.

sweetdaisies,
I'm living in Forbes, too! We'll have to check out the gyms together. What floor are you on?

There are many options at Pitt. However, the Pete gym is the best. It is state of the art.

Hey oceangirl! 3rd floor!!
